Meaning of "consequential losses": shipbuilding contracts. By entering into a shipbuilding contract on an amended SAJ (Shipbuilders' Association of Japan) standard form dated 6 April 2010, the defendant shipyard agreed to construct and sell, and the claimant buyer agreed to buy, the vessel Star Polaris, a Capesize bulk carrier.

Compania Sud Americana de Vapores SA v Hin-Pro International Logistics Ltd [2016] HKCFA 79
Mareva injunctions in Hong Kong. In 2012 Hin-Pro shipped goods for carriage to Venezuela from various ports in the People's Republic of China (the PRC) under bills of lading issued by CSAV. Hin-Pro commenced proceedings against CSAV before various PRC courts, alleging that the cargoes were wrongly delivered in Venezuela, without production of the bills of lading.

In support of ship financing – a new standard document from BIMCO
BIMCO
has extended its range of standard documents to include a new standard term
sheet for use in ship financing transactions, codenamed SHIPTERM. The aim has
been to provide a concise and simple standard to cover the essential elements
of a term loan to be provided by a single bank lender. This is the first time
that BIMCO has developed a banking-related document, working together with the
finance sector.

Liquefaction: shipping industry response
The dangers
associated with the carriage of solid bulk cargoes are undoubtedly one of the
decade’s hot issues in the shipping industry. Some of the titles that
circulated over this decade convey the alarming threats that have shaken the
dry cargo-shipping sector, such as: “Cargo liquefaction still a problem”, “Club
move to stop liquefaction losses”, “Crew safety should come first”, “Dealing
with the unusual”, “Drive to cut liquefaction losses”, “Handle with care” and
