8.1.1 The constitutional structure of England
The United Kingdom comprises multiple countries, and for this reason, there is a misconception that they all share the same legal system. However, there are three distinct jurisdictions in the United Kingdom: Scotland, Northern Ireland, and England and Wales. This chapter focuses solely on England and Wales, referred to as England for brevity.
