Christmas parties will cost UK business #126m

NORWICH - Insurer Norwich Union has said that the Christmas party seasonwill cost UK business �126m in lost productivity as staff fail to turn up towork after their office parties. While workers may take time off complainingof colds, flu, food poisoning and migraines, the real reason is overeatingor a hangover. On average each British worker will have attended twoChristmas parties and the excesses take their toll. A survey carried out byNorwich Union found that four times as many 16-34 years olds have taken timeoff compared to those aged 35-54, simply because they fail to moderate theirfood and drink intake.
