ECGD supports Mexican power station investment

LONDON - The UK's Export Credit Guarantee Department (ECGD) has announcedits backing for British investment in a major environmentally friendly powerstation in Mexico. ECGD is providing insurance for a $120m bank loan led byABN-AMRO Bank to support investment in the Termoelectrica Penoles Powerproject in Mexico's San Luis Potosi State. The power plant will be driven bypetroleum coke � a waste product from a nearby petroleum plant � and isdescribed as having "no adverse effect on air quality".
