Developing countries warned of new competition

NEPAL - Lava Prasad Sharma, chairing the 12th Insurance Congress ofDeveloping Countries (ICDC) held in Nepal, warned that deregulationand economic liberalisation meant local players having to competedirectly with more experienced companies from developed countries.The congress adopted various resolutions with the emphasis ondeveloping manpower through training and education. It also resolvedto raise funds for education with the help of governments andinternational organisations
