GISC and Mulra discuss formal ULR legislation

LONDON - Representatives of the UK's Mulra, the Motoring UninsuredLoss Recoveries Association, yesterday reported progress arising fromtheir dialogue with General Insurance Standards Council's (GISC) headof policy, Angela Darling. The two organisations are looking at waysto ensure that all companies selling uninsured loss recovery (ULR)insurance are aware of the scope of the GISC regulatory role. Mulrais seeking to clarify that regulations proposed by GISC willencompass the entire ULR market and that GISC's standards will atleast match the Mulra's minimum standards. Mulra understands manyorganisations will fall within GISC's remit but remains concernedover non-insured arrangements.
