GE Lighting's Calhoun replaces ERC's Ahlmann

New York - Kaj Ahlmann, president and ceo of GE's Employers Reinsurance Corp (ERC), is being replaced by David Calhoun, president and ceo of GE Lighting since September 1997, GE announced yesterday. GE said Mr Ahlmann will now take up a new strategic role in insurance business development as senior vice president of GE Capital Services. GE chairman and ceo John Welch commented: "Kaj Ahlmann has led ERC through a period of unprecedented growth. He championed a series of successful acquisitions that transformed the company into a leader in global reinsurance markets. In his new role, Kaj will continue to use these skills to help drive growth in all of GE Capital's insurance activities."
