Compaq highlights technology dissatisfaction
LONDON - Research commissioned by computer giant Compaq claims more than a third of workers in the UK's financial sector
are interrupted at least once a day by computer problems. Not only is this costing business in terms of lost time,
but it increases stress levels and even leads to damage to equipment when employees finally crack. Around 63% of respondents
to the MORI conducted survey had witnessed colleagues swearing at their computers while a quarter of those under 25 had
seen fellow workers kick their machines in frustration. Two in five of those suffering daily interruptions claimed
these had caused them to miss deadlines.
