Universa opens branch office in Greece

NUREMBERG - German property and casualty insurer Universa Allgemeine Versicherung AG has set up a branch office in Athens, Greece. The activities are being handled by local company Interasco SA, in which Universa has a stake. Currently, Universa is active in Greece in private and commercial business and sells motor, liability, accident and property insurance. It expects premium income of Dm7m for 1998 in the country. In the first half of 1999 life mutual Universa Lebensversicherung aG will also become active in Greece. The Universa insurance group recorded premium income of Dm673.4m in 1997.
