Senate passes Y2K Bill
IN a last-ditch boost for US insurers, the Senate has passed legislation that will provide some protection for companies who
dislcose their Y2K preparedness against lawsuits based on the shared information, writes John McLaughlin, New York. The Bill,
backed by a coalition of US business interests including the American Insurance Association, will now be considered by the
House of Representatives, but with this session of Congress due to end on October 9, it still faces a race against time.
