Hardware prices foil WUEBA volume hopes

GERMAN insurer Wuerttembergische und Badische Versicherungs-AG (WUEBA) expects a further decline in premium volume for electronics insurance this year following a drop in hardware prices, writes Ilse Schlingensiepen, Bonn. But it is expecting strong sales for a new policy, Secure-IT, which covers losses caused by computer hackers and viruses. The product has been developed together with brokers Aon Jauch & Huebener and security specialist Trusted Information Systems.
