CANADIAN-Swedish mining group Boliden Ltd yesterday said it was adequately insured to survive a toxic spill at its Los Frailes mine in Spain last weekend, writes Claire Wilkinson.

The breach of a reservoir owned by the company led to the dumping of more than 5m cu m of toxic mud into the River Guadiamar in Andalucia, killing wildlife and destroying crops, above.
