THE Object Management Group (OMG), which promotes the concept of “object orientated” programming and related technologies within the computer industry, is stepping up the activities of its Insurance Working Group with the launch of its Insurance RFI (Request for Information) initiative.

OMG Insurance Working Group members currently include London Life, the ING Group, American Re, Aetna Inc and the systems house CSC Continuum. The purpose of the RFI is to solicit information about the latest insurance industry requirements, projects and products with a view to developing industry-wide guidelines and standards for the development of systems offering a greater degree of “interoperability”.
