T HE cases selected in this review touch upon many topics familiar if not exactly dear to shipping practitioners. They include contract of carriage (bills of lading), limitation (package and ship), liability for demurrage, mortgagee’s rights, and jurisdiction – recurrent themes in any shipping review. There are other points of more esoteric interest but still with a relevance to the industry as a whole.
