THE terrorist bomb blast at Lahore‘s Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital earlier this month caused at least $1m of damage, according to early estimates.

The hospital, Pakistan‘s most famous cancer treatment centre, was built with public donations by Pakistan‘s international cricket star Imran Khan (seen above addressing reporters at the hospital) as a memorial to his mother, who died of cancer. Six people were killed and 30 injured in the blast, which took place during the mid-day rush of patients.
