Bowden v John Laing Construction Ltd and Another (unreported, 12 May 2000, CA)

The general rule is that any authority given to an agent is revocable by his principal. Authority is irrevocable in only exceptional circumstances. In the absence of novation of a contract or a deed, there must be unequivocal proof that the principal has divested himself of ability to conduct his own affairs: Bowden v. John Laing Construction Ltd and Another (unreported, 12 May 2000, CA)
