IN two recent cases, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the federal appellate court with jurisdiction over all
federal maritime cases on the West Coast of the US and in Alaska and Hawaii, has extended the doctrine of deviation to all
cases where the carrier is guilty of intentional destruction of cargo.
