EU-Swiss axis against fraud

The EU and Switzerland have negotiated a detailed agreement on mutual cooperation against fraud. The deal now awaits confirmation from the Swiss federal parliament and the EU Council of Ministers before it comes into effect, probably next year. The agreement allows evidence in fraud cases to be transferred between EU and Swiss judicial authorities. Furthermore it allows EU fraud investigators to contact directly European grant and contract holders who live in Switzerland and demand financial information. Both sides’ investigators would also be allowed to attend arrests and raids on their respective nationals.
