Those of us who have worked in the field of anti-money laundering/counter financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) risk management for a number of years have learnt that you may implement the most effective detection and prevention tools that money can buy, but if you are not able to manage the critical information which they generate, you run greater risk – regulatory, legal and reputational - than if they had not been implemented in the first place.
