Developments in Securities and Financial Sectors

Since the beginning of this year, the government has implemented major initiatives in the securities and financial sectors to boost investor confidence and attract investments to the ailing capital and stock markets. On 22 February 2001, it launched the Capital Market Masterplan, just a few weeks after the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange unveiled its long awaited revamped Listing Requirements.
