Supplement to the Draft Code of Market Conduct

Released as a supplement to CP 59 Market Abuse: A Draft Code of Market Conduct, Consultation Paper 76 invites comments on three remaining elements of the package of measures that the regulator is introducing to implement the new market abuse regime. The paper contains further consideration of the prohibition on a person against requiring or encouraging another person to engage in market abuse, particularly as it applies to the position of intermediaries in the financial markets. It also covers the interaction between the FSA’s listing rules and the new market abuse regime. Finally, it deals with the City Code on Take-overs and Mergers and the Rules Governing Substantial Acquisitions of Shares and the market abuse regime. The consultation period for these proposals ended on 2 February 2001.
