Low cat loss level cheers US

Cat losses in the US were fairly low for the third quarter, with the Property Claim Services (PCS) division of the Insurance Services Office expecting insurers to face claims of $675m from six events during the three months. The figure compares markedly with the total of $20.7bn for the third quarter of last year, when the attacks of September 11 caused so much damage.
