Sun sets on travel agents
FSA predicts low numbers of regulated holiday firms selling insurance
Travel agents are to be included in the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) remit for the first time from January 2009 following
confirmation by the Treasury. But according to the FSA, which has now published its own consultation paper, fewer than 200
travel firms are likely to become directly autho-rised under the new regime and fewer than 200 again are expected to become
appointed representatives.
