Bush agrees to rise in NFIP borrowing limit

President Bush has signed legislation increasing the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP’s) borrowing authority to $18.5bn from the current level of $3.5bn. The increase was needed because of the heavy strain on NFIP’s finances caused by the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005.
