Brazil: three Chilean sailors were confirmed dead following a fire on board vehicle carrier Rio Blanco in the port of Santos.
Investigators from the Chilean Navy were sent to Brazil to help with the investigation into the causes. A fire broke out in
the engine-room of the vessel resulting in the death of the first engineer, the third engineer, and a mechanic. The vessel
was on its way to Santos as a part of regular route delivering Brazilian automobiles to Chile. The cause of the fire was unknown.
