US: shares of Alon USA Energy fell to their lowest level in more than a decade after the Dallas-based petroleum refiner announced
that its Big Spring refinery in West Central Texas was temporarily shut following an explosion and fire. The stock tumbled
10% to $16.36 on volume of 770,000 shares. Alon said the cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage at the 70,000-barrel-per-day
facility were not yet known. Four workers were injured but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Alon USA
said the facility would resume gasoline and asphalt production within 60 days.
