OdysseyRe has appointed Carl Overy as chief executive of its London market division. Mr Overy is currently the division’s chief actuary and a member of OdysseyRe’s management team in London for the last six years. The division writes casualty insurance and treaty reinsurance business on a worldwide basis through Newline Insurance Company in the London company market and Newline Syndicate 1218 at Lloyd’s. Mr Overy succeeds Brian Young who will be relocating to New York to assume overall responsibility for the company’s US and London market operations. OdysseyRe writes medical and specialty insurance business in the US through its Hudson Insurance Group brand on both an admitted and non-admitted basis. Mr Overy will report to Mr Young
