Increase in expatriate workforce in Scandinavia
Europe
Life insurer and health insurer,
Cigna International has opened a new office in Stockholm to provide healthcare services to multinational companies based in Sweden,
Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Sheldon Kenton, European managing director for
Cigna International, noted that the workforces of Scandinavian companies were increasingly multinational. He said that Scandinavian
companies, irrespective of size, were recruiting from a diverse labour market. “In the past their expatriates were mainly
Scandinavian nationals working abroad. Now, they are evolving into truly international groups of many nationalities. We believe
having a local presence is essential to understanding this changing market.”
