Zurich appoints new captive leader

Zurich has named Steven Bauman as the leader of its team developing captive strategy for Zurich’s Global Corporate in North America unit. Mr Bauman will be responsible for helping clients incorporate captives into their insurance strategies. “Many larger customers employ captive insurers as key components of their overall risk management planning,” said Mario Vitale, chief executive of Zurich Global Corporate in North America, adding that such services are an “important new direction for us”. Mr Bauman joins Zurich from Aon’s Captive Services Group where he was senior vice president.
