Endurance Specialty Holdings saw a dramatic improvement in its net income result in 2006. The group increased its net profits by 326.0% from a loss of
$220.5mn in 2005 to a profit of $498.1mn in 2006. Endurance was formed in the wake of the reinsurance capacity shortage that
existed in the wake of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in September 2001.
