MetLife posts record revenue and earnings results in 2006

Earnings boosted by MetLife property sell-off • Asset management lifts Prudential Financial • Manulife income up 21%

MetLife, the largest life insurer and the second largest annuity writer in the US, reported record revenues and earnings for fiscal 2006. Total premiums, fees and other revenues for the year were 9% up on 2005 at $32.6bn, while operating earnings jumped by 23% to $4.02bn.
