Amlin profits

Amlin’s two Lloyd’s managing agencies, Amlin Underwriting and Angerstein Underwriting, achieved a consolidated profit of £14.8m (US$23.4m) for their three managed syndicates for the 1997 year of account. The consolidated figure represented a 2.3% profit on the group’s total managed capacity for the year. Syndicates 902 and 2001 both came in near the top end of previous forecasts, though Syndicate 1141 achieved a profit of only 0.9% of its £76.2m capacity, against a previous forecast in the range of 2-5%.
