Allianz winner in bank deal

Allianz, Munich, has achieved a coup that makes other allfinanz or bancassurance schemes look distinctly pale. In future, Europe’s largest insurer will not only control Germany’s main life and property and casualty insurers, but will also control the largest investment funds company and a major retail banking network. In the merger between Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Bank, Allianz is the clear winner.
