Changes in energy industry present opportunities for insurers

The development of new technologies will be a key feature of future progress in the energy industry. All these issues will impact on energy providers and, consequently, on their insurers

The far-reaching changes that are taking place among the major power and utility operators have wide ranging implications for their insurers, according to speakers at the recent European Power Generation Trade Sector Forum organised by Axa Corporate Solutions in Bordeaux, France. Indeed, if the present rate of consolidation continues there might be only three major power generation businesses in Europe in a few years’ time.
