Medical insurers increase membership for first time in seven years
Only one of the 15 players reported a loss last year • Private pension fund managers report mixed earnings
Chile’s private medical insurers closed 2005 in relatively good shape. Probably the most significant achievement was the reversal
in the decline of its subscriber base. After seven years of decline from its peak level of 1997, there was a slight recovery
(+ 1%) in the number of members, which stabilised at 1.24 million (2.66 million including family members).
