CGNU to become Aviva
Europe
The UK’s largest insurer, CGNU, will seek approval from shareholders at the group’s annual general meeting on 23 April to
change its name to
Aviva. At present the company has about 50 different trading names across the globe. If approved, the group will unify its international
operations under the one name. CGNU chief executive Richard Harvey said the idea was to create a new and powerful international
financial services brand.
