Brazilian brokers join forces

Insurance brokers Lazam and MDS, part of the Suzano and Sonae groups, have united to form Lazam-MDS. The new company will focus on engineering, transportation, health, life and retirement insurance. The company claims it will place around R$30mn of business. With proposed offices in Curitiba, Porto Alegre and London, Lazam-MDS plans to compete with the large international insurance brokers.
