Australian Labor might introduce ombudsman

Australia’s Labor Party has pledged to establish a parliamentary inquiry into the issue of flood insurance if elected to government at the next federal election later this year. Opposition leader Kim Beazley said parliament needed to be involved in the flood insurance issue and the public needed to have the opportunity to explain its problems and experiences. A Labor government would also assess the need for an Insurance Industry Ombudsman.
