Australia considers flood cover

Flood insurance is set to become an issue in the Australian election to be held later this year. In a pre-election tour of northern New South Wales, Labour Party opposition leader Kim Beazley said the Australian Government’s policy of leaving flood insurance to insurers was inadequate. He said it was an issue the national government had to tackle.
