EBRD identifies strong growth in eastern Europe

A significant boost in foreign investment is lifting the economies in former Soviet Bloc countries, according to the Transition Report 2000 released by the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development. And investment in central and eastern Europe is forecast to be at the highest level ever this year. The report principally examines how the region is coping in its transition from the command to the market economy.
