China CIRC flexes its muscles

The Chinese regulator has suspended the Beijing representative offices of three foreign insurers. The China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) said the local offices of PingAn Insurance (US), Travelers Insurance Group and Guijiang Insurance Agency had been suspended because they had either changed addresses without permission or had failed to provide the required review of their local operations.
