Australia Reinsurance deregulation rejected

Proposals to deregulate the Australian reinsurance industry have collapsed following industry consultations by the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (Apra). The regulatory body said that submissions to its proposed reforms of prudential supervision for general insurance companies had warned about adverse effects of deregulating reinsurance.
