Parkinson’s disease drug caused gambling

Two patients who state that a drug prescribed to treat their Parkinson’s disease caused them to gamble compulsively, have commenced claims, according to Leigh Day & Co. They are seeking compensation from the distributor of the drug in the UK. Both were prescribed the drug Mirapexin (or Pramipexole) but were not warned that pathological gambling (or other compulsive behaviour) was a potential side effect of the drug. As a result, they did not link their highly unusual gambling behaviour with the medication, said Leigh Day & Co.
