Exposure to pesticides linked to Parkinson’s disease
Researchers at Aberdeen University have found that high levels of exposure to pesticides increase the risk of getting Parkinson’s
disease by 39%, while even low levels raised it by 9%. The study was reported in the journal Occupational and Environmental
Medicine. The biggest risk factor for Parkinson’s disease is having it in the family. The researchers stressed that the study
does not prove that pesticides cause Parkinson’s Disease but said that it did add to the weight of evidence of an association.
