REACH regulations come into force

The new European chemicals legislation, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restrictions of Chemicals) has entered into force, and at the same time, the new European Chemicals Agency has started operations in Helsinki. According to the European Commission, “The REACH regulation will significantly improve protection of human health and the environment while encouraging innovation and keeping the EU’s chemical industry competitive.”
