Back injury caused by faulty chair

A man has received £3,000 in an out of court settlement from his former employers after a faulty chair resulted in him suffering a back injury whilst at work. The man suffered the injury whilst working at his desk. A colleague came over and lent on the back of his chair. However, when the colleague moved away the chair snapped up sharply as the locking mechanism failed causing the man to injure his back. The man attended hospital where he was informed that he had sustained muscle damage for which he subsequently required physiotherapy.
