£3mn damages for woman hit by police car

A woman who was hit by a police car when on a pelican crossing has been awarded over £3mn in compensation. The woman suffered brain damage after being hit by the car which was responding to an emergency call. The police car had gone through a red light and was overtaking a car when it hit the woman on the crossing. The woman is unable to walk and requires round-the-clock care.
