£1mn in compensation for amputated leg

A former maintenance worker whose leg was crushed and partially amputated at a building site has been awarded £1mn in compensation. A tipper truck toppled against him and trapped him against a pile of rubble. In order to free him, his leg was amputated and he also suffered internal injuries and damage to his head. The owner of the truck admitted negligence.
