Whistleblower to sue over sacking

An accountant is suing her employer for £700,000 claiming that her name and reputation have been damaged. The chartered accountant believes that she was sacked from her £67,000 a year post for whistleblowing. She told an employment tribunal that she reported an alleged £128mn discrepancy in the firm’s bank accounts and was dismissed shortly afterwards for “behavioural issues”. Her claim is based on lost earnings, damages for injury to her feelings, and lost career opportunities. The bank denies her claims and said she was dismissed because of her lack of people skills and behaviour.
