Significant premium reductions in 2006 renewal season

There were significant reductions in lead premium levels due to heightened competition and low loss levels during the 2006 renewal season, according to Aon Aviation’s Airline Insurance Market News. Lead premium levels were down nearly a quarter in December compared to the same period in 2005; total lead premium was down by nearly a fifth for the full year. Lead premium for the full year 2006 was $1.68bn, compared with $2.15bn in 2005.
